Berry & Seed Hormone-Balancing Smoothie Bowl
A vibrant and nutrient-dense smoothie bowl designed to support hormonal balance with a blend of antioxidants, healthy fats, and fiber. Perfect for a refreshing and satisfying start to your day.
•1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen, e.g., raspberries, blueberries)
•1/2 ripe banana (frozen for extra creaminess)
•1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
•1 scoop (approx. 20g) unflavored or vanilla protein powder (collagen or plant-based)
•1 tablespoon chia seeds
•1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
•1/2 teaspoon maca powder (optional, for adaptogenic support)
•1/4 cup spinach (optional, for extra nutrients without altering taste much)
•Toppings: 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds, 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds, a few extra berries, a sprinkle of bee pollen (optional)
Steps
1.Combine mixed berries, banana, almond milk, protein powder, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, and maca powder (if using) in a high-speed blender.
2.Add spinach (if using).
3.Blend until completely smooth and creamy. If too thick, add a splash more almond milk. If too thin, add a few more frozen berries or ice.
4.Pour the smoothie into a bowl.
5.Arrange your desired toppings: sprinkle with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, extra fresh berries, and bee pollen (if using).
6.Serve immediately and enjoy!
Coach Tip: For an extra hormone-balancing boost, consider 'seed cycling' by rotating flax and pumpkin seeds in the first half of your cycle, and sesame and sunflower seeds in the second half. This recipe incorporates flax and pumpkin seeds, which are great for the follicular phase.
